Taxonomic diversity, structure and distribution of diatom algae in benthos of the Tiligul Estuary were studied. 181 taxa of diatoms related to 3 classes, 7 subclasses, 22 orders, 39 families and 61 genuses were revealed. For the first time 74 taxa were presented in benthos of the reservoir, 66 from which were found firstly for the estuary and 25 were new for benthos of Northern Part of the Black Sea. Comparative analysis of systematic diversity of diatom flora for last 40 years was made.
