The microphytobenthos of the brook in the recreational area of Kiev (Ukraine)

Abstract

The results of investigation of the brook, located in the recreational area of Kiev are presented. Species composition, taxonomical structure, abundance, ecological and biological characteristics of algae, found on the bottom of the watercourse were analysed. Are discovered 86 species of algae represented by 94 infraspecific taxa (including those containing the nomenclatural type of the species), identified algae belong to 5 divisions, 8 classes, 10 orders, 28 families and 41 genera. The trophy-saprobiological status of the water body is defined by terms of the abundance of the microphytobenthos and the index of saprobity. It was determined, that the leading role in formation of structural and quantative characteristics of the microphytobenthos belong to Bacillariophyta.
