Phytoplankton of the middle reaches of the Seversky Donets River (Ukraine)

Abstract
The diversity of phytoplankton of the Seversky Donets River within the boundaries of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions was studied. We identified 355 species of algae of 8 divisions. Bacillariophyta (40 %) and Chlorophyta (33 %) dominated by species composition. The diatom— coccoid-green algae complex is formed with the participation of the blue-green algae. The rare, very rare and new species of the steppe zone of Ukraine were revealed in composition of phytoplankton.
