Research data policy
Research Data Policy and FAIR Principles
The Editorial Board of the journal Algologia supports the principles and values of open science and considers scientific (research) data to be an essential component of ensuring transparency and reproducibility of scientific research. In its activities, the Editorial Board follows the FAIR principles (“The FAIR Guiding Principles for Scientific Data Management and Stewardship”), which ensure findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability of data.
Data findability is ensured by assigning DOIs and using standardized metadata; accessibility is provided through open access to articles on the journal’s platform; interoperability is achieved through the use of widely accepted metadata formats; and reusability is supported through open licensing and the provision of complete bibliographic and descriptive data.
The journal encourages authors to make research data underlying their results publicly available by publishing them as supplementary materials to the article, as well as by depositing them in national and international research data repositories.
